The purpose of the praise night, according to Pastor Adeboye was for the church to plead for God’s assistance before the new year.
There will be a new dawn very soon, he declared. A brand-new Nigeria is coming. The Lord has the final say.
“Very soon, our storm in Nigeria will be over and all will be well in Jesus name.
“When you know how to praise God in struggles and difficulties, God will come down and every thing will be over. Very soon, our cloud will be over in Jesus name.
“God is in control and very soon, our storm will be over. The cloud will be over.”
Prior to his remarks, Pastor Adekunle Felix Kumapayi, Provincial Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Ogun Province 4, Simawa, Ogun State, urged Nigerians to seek God’s face through praise and worship in order to overcome the many issues the country is now dealing with.
Pastor Kumapayi said, “We have prayed and fasted. We must also turn to Him in prayer and worship to ask for divine guidance.
The cleric said that only God could deliver Nigeria from the internal and foreign problems impeding the nation’s advancement, comparing the nation’s insecurity and economic predicament to that of Israel.
In his remarks on the general elections in 2023, Pastor Kumapayi gave the Nigerian people the assurance that the year would be one of testimony and that God would intervene on their behalf to select a leader who would be sympathetic to their plight.
He urged members of the Christian community to vote for trustworthy candidates in the next elections and to obtain their Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) so they can actively engage in the nation’s politics.
“The situation in Nigeria is very similar to what occurred in ancient Israel. Israel was surrounded by strong opponents and was dealing with numerous issues. They had no recourse.
“But in Nigeria, we have prayed, we have fasted nothing has happened, then, we decided to praise God. He will fight for us and defeat all our enemies.
“We believe that after today, things will never remain the same again in Nigeria. 2023 will be year of testimony. God will rise on our behalf and fight against our enemies.
