The Oyo State Government on Wednesday, August 5, 2020 approved a grant of N59.78 million for the kick start of the State Security Network Agency, known as ‘Operation Amotekun.
The approval was contained in a statement by the State Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Dr. Wasiu Olatunbosun in Ibadan, the State capital.
According to the statement, the approval was given at the State’s 19th virtual executive council meeting, held on Tuesday.
The approved funds is to be use for the creation of logo for personnel to serve as identity, purchase of 3,000 units of uniform, combat boots, lanyard, security belt, socks, baseball hats and other materials.
The Commissioner stressed that the council also approved N75.87 million for re-accreditation of Adeoyo Maternity Centre, Yemetu in full operation and standard teaching hospital.
The approved fund was said to be in conformity with the administration’s passion to regenerate then health sector in the state and serve as residency training and gynecology centre.
“The equipment to be procures include six hydraulic delivery beds, two theater electronic/automatic tables, one laparoscope and one hysteroscope.
