The investigation into the death of a couple in Ilesa last Friday has been closed, according to the Osun State Police Command.
The family had requested a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding their loved one’s death.
The deceased’s 25-year-old son, according to the command’s spokesman, SP Yemisi Opalola, has obtained a court order to prohibit police from further probing the case.
Last Friday, a couple named Olasunkanmi and Fisayo Eso were found dead in their flat.
The late couple’s 12-year-old maid, only named as Lara, was accused of poisoning the deceased after staying with them for three years.
The maid, it was learned, was adopted by the couple when she was nine years old and has lived with them till their deaths.
According to Opalola, the deceased’s son argued that his parents did not die of poison, but rather from generator fume.
