The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom, is prepared to free the nation from the rule of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor made this comment in response to Senator Ademola Adeleke, the PDP candidate, winning the just ended Osun governor’s race.
According to Ortom, Senator Adeleke’s election as the next governor of Osun demonstrates the public’s confidence in him and the PDP.
In a statement of congratulations on Sunday, Ortom praised the newly elected governor of Osun for his perseverance, labor, and dedication to the welfare of the people, which helped him win.
Senator Adeleke was advised by the governor of Benue not to take the people’s trust and faith for granted and that they expect him to alter the story by bringing about positive changes in the South West state.
In order for Osun State to restore its grandeur under his leadership, he pleaded with Adeleke to uphold and enhance the reputation of quality, dignity, and leadership that his family has long enjoyed.
He said: “On behalf of myself, the government and the PDP family in Benue State, I congratulate Senator Ademola Adeleke on his election as the Governor-elect of Osun State. I am convinced that you will provide enduring leadership for the people in appreciation for the massive support they have given you by your election.”
“The victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate; Senator Adeleke in the Osun election is a measure of trust and confidence of the citizens in him and the party.
“The election of Adeleke is a precursor to the sweet round of victories awaiting the PDP as we begin to take back all the states in our resolve to rescue Nigeria from the destruction meted to it by the clueless APC-led federal government.”
The party’s victory in Osun State, according to Governor Ortom, will further alter the political landscape of the South West.
He expressed his gratitude to the people of Osun, INEC, the media, civil society organizations (CSOs), and security personnel for ensuring that the people’s will prevailed.
The governor also thanked the PDP National Working Committee and Senator Iyorchia Ayu, the party’s national chairman, on their victory.
