Senator Ademola Adeleke, the newly elected governor of Osun State, received the Certificate of Return on Wednesday from the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The Osun state governor’s race was won by Adeleke on Saturday.
Adeleke and the deputy governor-elect, Prince Kola Adewusi, received the gift from Prof. Kunle Ajayi, INEC National Commissioner, who is in charge of Osun, Ogun, and Oyo states.
Adeleke received 403, 371 votes, defeating All Progressives Congress incumbent Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who received 375, 027 votes.
Compared to Oyetola’s 13 local government areas, he won 17 of them.
Senator Isiaka Adeleke, his late elder brother, and the people of Osun state were honored in Adeleke’s acceptance speech after he was presented with the certificate at a brief ceremony at the Osun INEC state headquarters in Osogbo.
