Due to the recent bandit attack on a train, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo had to abandon his travel to Lagos and return to Kaduna.
According to Naija News, Osinbajo arrived in Lagos on Tuesday for the 13th Bola Ahmed Tinubu Colloquium, which will be held at the Eko Hotels.
The VP’s spokeswoman, Laolu Akande, stated on Twitter that Osinbajo took a diversion to Kaduna on Tuesday afternoon after learning of the terrorist attack on an Abuja-Kaduna train.
Akande wrote, “On his way to Lagos for the 13th Tinubu Colloquium marking former Lagos State Gov’s 70th birthday, VP had to detour to Kaduna this afternoon on receiving news of the extent of human & material losses occasioned by yesterday’s dastardly attack on the Abuja-Kaduna railway route.”
Meanwhile, Tinubu, the APC’s national leader, has called off his 13th Colloquium.
When Tinubu walked to the podium to announce the cancellation of the colloquium, the Eko Hotel, and Suites, the venue, was already packed to the brim with dignitaries.
The presidential candidate stated that he was made aware of the train accident, which resulted in the deaths of dozens of people.
Tinubu stated that the tragedy necessitated sober reflection rather than jubilation.
Tinubu stated that it would be inappropriate for him to be rejoicing as a statesman when such a catastrophe had befallen the country.
