Asiwaju’s emergence means that the four Prominent Parties would be parading Candidates from Four different Geo-political zones, hence, every zone needs the others in order to produce the next President. Eventually, it will be decided by small margins and deep political alignments and re-alignments.
Congratulations to Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his victory at the APC Presidential Primary. It is a victory for democracy on three fronts
First, President Buhari staked a good claim to the enviable status of a democrat by refusing to meddle in the process that produced the Flag Bearer of his own party as a sitting President.
This is a big credit to him. By so doing he supervised a free, fair and credible Primary Election
Secondly, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s victory is symbolic of a United Nigeria despite Ethnic, cultural and religious differences. The overwhelming majority meant that he was voted for across board by every Zone of the Country. The Northern APC Governors made a huge statement which sacrificed the ambitions of some Northern aspirants in order to side with equity, fairness and justice. They earned the applaud of decent Nigerians.
Lastly, Asiwaju’s emergence means that the four Prominent Parties would be parading Candidates from Four different Geo-political zones, hence, every zone needs the others in order to produce the next President. Eventually, it will be decided by small margins and deep political alignments and re-alignments.
In all, Nigerians are the winners. We now have the front-runners.
