So the whole idea of politics and religion remains a weapon of subjugation in the third world countries, particularly in the hands of manipulators “oppressors” as modeled after the larger Nigerian political and economic systems, which is the only reason why the lower level of the ladder “masses” will remain in perpetual mess- hunger, depraved and oppressed. This is obviously the sad reality of our dear country Nigeria.
In the words of our revolutionary clergy Martin Luther king Jr, “WE NEED LEADERS not in love with MONEY but in love WITH JUSTICE. Not in love with publicity but IN LOVE WITH HUMANITY.” The postures of Martin Luther King Jr was further deepened with how I summed up with the life of our global icon Ta-ta Madiba’ Nelson Mandela…a nation should not be judged by how it treats its highest citizens but its lowest ones.
True leaders act with integrity and in doing so they establish trust. True leaders genuinely value their people and in doing so they create loyalty. True leaders are in the business of assisting their people realize their full potential and in doing so they inspire confidence, commitment and hope. True leaders are not glutinous and selfish. This is certainly not what we are experiencing presently with the current political actors and gladiators.
Words In The Mire- “If you judged President Buhari from afar, certainly you’ll judge him wrongly like I’ve always done before I finally get close to him. President Buhari is a caring man.”~ Femi Fani-Kayode. After listening to FFK quoting the bible and justifying his actions that carries a serious moral burden, he further alluded to god “told me” I instantly concluded about the fallacies of politics and religiousity in the developing world.
It’s not in my intention to stir the hornets’ nest, especially, not on this reposeful balmy afternoon in September. But, I cannot let this slide. It has to be signposted, here, and now, for future references. For how long shall we as a nation remain mentally married to the deceitfulness of the PSYCHOPATH, SOCIOPATH and SYCOPHANT?
Isn’t it a tad risible? Just a little tad. That the same man, the most virulent and bitter critic of Mr Buhari, have – possibly induced by a sudden mind-shattering epiphany – now turned volte-face, dispensing one vacuous encomium after another. The man was and is, still unruffled, unexcitable. When will, honesty, forthrightness and strategic engagement replace deceitfulness?
We were told, much to our chagrin and discomposure, that our dear nation Nigeria, was up to a great and propitious start. It was a no-brainer, the letters on the wall were legible enough, especially, to minds not fettered by prejudice and unmeaning partisanship; and
sometimes by a plausible extension, and the tide of the country turns – with the deserving encomiums and eulogies. It seems like we are dealing with twin evils. (Politics and religion).
As nation under the watch of the most high God, it is absolutely important to recognize the act of God and it should be noted, that REDEMPTION is nearer than we imagine, and when that day arrives, we mustn’t skimp on the plaudits and adulation ands, we need to recognize that some people have worked hard in silence, hardly without a pat on the back. Leadership is a privilege to serve and better the lives of the people not the other way round. The concept of leadership and public positions needs to be reevaluated and redefined in the context of the third world countries. African nations, are not doing well because of the misconception that public office is an extension of their private life..
Consequently, this is the time for us to stay awake through great period of social changes with our eyes fixed on the ball. DRY BONES SHALL RISE AGAIN.
