In response to the crisis afflicting the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), former aviation minister Femi Fani-Kayode has adopted a new strategy as the conflict between former vice president Atiku Abubakar and Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike deepens.
As the party is torn apart by turmoil, Fani-Kayode emphasised the role of karma, claiming that Wike and his team supported former president Goodluck Jonathan in the 2015 election while Atiku and his crew worked against him.
Fani-Kayode, who disclosed this on his verified Twitter account on Thursday, September 22, 2022; said: “One thing I will say for the Wike group in PDP is that every single one of them stood with GEJ (Goodluck Ebele Jonathan) in the 2015 presidential election.
“Conversely every single one of the key players on the other side including Atiku, Tambuwal and Saraki betrayed GEJ in 2015.”

The main opposition party is having a hard time as Wike and his allies continue to demand that Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, the PDP’s national chairman, quit, even though the general election campaigns for 2023 will begin in a few days, getting Nigerians ready for the five-month election.
Wike has insisted that Ayu must step down as the party’s leader after Atiku and Delta state governor Ifeanyi Okowa emerged as the party’s presidential and vice presidential candidates, respectively.
The governor said that there was an understanding that the chairman and the presidential candidate could not come from the same area because they are both from the North.

On Tuesday, Wike and his supporters withdrew from the Atiku Presidential Campaign Committee, demanding for the ouster of Ayu. These supporters included his colleagues from the states of Oyo and Benue, Seyi Makinde and Samuel Ortom, among others.
Senator Jonah Jang, a former governor of the Plateau state, Chief Bode George, a former deputy national chairman (South-West) of the party, a former governor of the Cross River, Donald Duke, and others have all thrown their support behind Wike.
The former minister claimed that among the well-known politicians that betrayed the former President in 2015 were Atiku, Dr. Bukola Saraki, a former Senate President, and Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal, the governor of the state of Sokoto.
