The Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has announced Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa as his deputy to contest the October 10, Governorship election in the State.
Mr. Lucky Ayedatiwa who is from the ilaje Council area of the State was a former representative of the State on the Board of Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Gov. Akeredolu picked Mr. Ayedatiwa as a result of the recent defection of the State Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi to the opposition party, People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and contested for the party’s Governorship primary election but lost to Eyitayo Jegede SAN.
