Ahead of Ondo State Governorship election, a social-political group identified as, All Progressive Congress Positive Thinkers, has called for retention of the State’s Governorship slot in the Northern Senatorial district.
The group disclosed that its effort will enable the Senatorial district to maintain the second term in Office.
According to the group President, Mr. Dada Eminence, while addressing Journalists in a Press conference in Akure said, the party would have a good chances at the forthcoming Governorship election in the State.
Mr. Dada highlighted that APC is the only visible party in the northern part of the district.
He noted that, despite the fact that the incumbent Governor Rotimi Akeredolu worked for Action Alliance(AA) during the last general elections, which made President Muhammadu Buhari lost Ondo State, he disclosed that, only the Northern Senatorial district maintained the victory in Ondo State.
He also added that since electorates were defecting from APC to Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), no members in APC defected in the Northern district.
Mr. Dada stressed that in spite the fact that the majority of appointments made by Akeredolu administration favors the Southern Senatorial zone, a lot of them are presently leaving the party for other parties.
The group however, urged the APC leadership to ensure that the Governorship slot remines in the Northern Senatorial district in order for the party to emerge victorious at the October 10, 2020 Gubernatorial election.
