Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo state, has ordered the immediate closure of Mai Asubahi Night Club and Gidan Barau, both located in the state’s Ore, Odigbo Local Government Area.
This was stated in a press statement issued by Mr Richard Olatunde, his Chief Press Secretary, on Tuesday in Akure.
According to Akeredolu, the order became necessary due to growing security concerns raised by Ore residents.
According to Olatunde, the outfits were ordered closed due to criminal activities by the “Zamfara Boys,” a gang that specializes in peddling hard drugs and engaging in underage commercial sex hawking.
As a result, the governor has directed the Commander of the State Security Network, (Amotekun), to mobilize personnel to carry out the directive, according to Olatunde.
