437 people have been nominated by the Federal Government for national honours.
Five of the 437 will be awarded the Grand Commander Order of the Niger title (GCON).
The five people are Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organization; Amina Mohammed, Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations; Ahmed Lawan, President of the Senate; Olukayode Ariwoola, Chief Justice of Nigeria; and Tanko Muhammad, a former Chief Justice of Nigeria.
There will be 54 recipients of the Commander of the order of the Federal Republic, including the late former Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, and the late former Chief of Army Staff, Ibrahim Attahiru (CFR).

There are a total of 67 individuals on the list to receive the honorary title of Commander of the Order of the Niger (CON), 64 individuals for Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR), 101 individuals for Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON), 75 individuals for Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR), 56 individuals for Member of the Order of the Niger (MON), and 8 individuals for the Federal Republic Medal (FRM).
Politicians, public servants, security personnel, traditional leaders, religious figures, legislators, and others are included among the recipients.
At a ceremony on October 11 in the State House, President Muhammadu Buhari will present the honours to the recipients.
