The Cervical Cancer Screening Project was launched on Tuesday, 04, 2022 by the Chairman of Ojodu LCDA, Hon. Segun Odunmbaku, in collaboration with the Center for Medical Informatics and Professional Development of LASUTH.
Odunmbaku stressed that the medical project, which is based on the tripod of vaccination, screening, and treatment, is timely and preventive for cervical cancer while stressing that his administration is exploring more Public Private Partnership collaborations and leaving no stone unturned in providing quality healthcare for the people of Ojodu LCDA during the program’s launch at the Ogba Primary Health Center, Oluwole.
He also encouraged the surrounding area to benefit from the five-day programme, emphasising that his government is supporting other medical outreach programmes for localities in the community and other societal groups, all of which will be carried out in accordance with the H.E.Y.S. Agenda.
Prof. Oluwarotimi Daramola, a representative of the Center for Medical Informatics and Professional Development at LASUTH, spoke about the seriousness of cervical cancer cases and emphasised the value of prevention while thanking Chairman Hon. Segun Odunmbaku for the chance to work with the council on the medical project. He praised the Chairman and his administration for being open to collaborations for development in Ojodu LCDA.
Also Members of the legislative body, as well as representatives from the Center for Medical Informatics & Professional Development (CMPD), the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), and the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH), as well as CIPD members, supervisors, and medical officers for health, were present.
