Festus Keyamo, the spokesperson for the Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council, says former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s endorsement of the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, will have no effect on his principal.
Obasanjo formally backed Obi for the February 25 election, saying he had an advantage over other candidates. However, Keyamo has dismissed the development, claiming that Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be unaffected.

Obasanjo’s move, according to the APC PCC spokesperson, demonstrates that, as Atiku’s previous boss, he does not believe the PDP nominee deserves to be President this time around.
On Sunday, he tweeted: “Quite within OBJ’s right to endorse anyone, but bad for PDP in 2 ways: (1.) Atiku’s former boss does not think he deserves to be President this time around (2) The little support OBJ gave PDP in 2019 & they failed, he has taken that away to LP. No effect at all on @officialABAT.”
