Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, stated on Friday that Nigeria cannot advance as a nation until changes are made to the way administration is carried out. He also mentioned purposeful leadership and teamwork as elements that might bring positive change and growth to the country.
At the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta, the former President made these remarks while engaging six members of the House of Representatives who were co-sponsoring bills that called for a single six-year term for the president and governors, power rotation between the northern and southern regions of the nation, and a single day for elections for national assembly, state assembly, and presidential positions. The bills were led by Hon. Ugochinyere Ikenga, who represents the Ideato North and South Federal Constituency of Imo State.
