The Chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOm), Abike Dabiri-Erewa on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 called on Authorities of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to act swiftly in paying tuition, allowances and incentives of students on scholarship scheme in other to continue their education abroad.
The call was made in a statement by the head Media and Public Relations Unit of the commission in Abuja, Gabriel Odu with reference to a letter written to the Minister of the Niger Delta, Sen. Godswill Akpabio dated June 18, 2020, NIDC/001/20/1 reminding the minister of the plight of the students.
She also appeal to NDDC to direct the office in charge of the payment to do the needful together with the backlogs .
She added that the deadline given to some of the students have expired which is capable of making them become beggars.
