The head of a new militant organisation in Nigeria’s Niger Delta area has warned to wreak havoc on the nation and make the next general elections ugly.
The militant group, which in the area went by the name “Force of Ekpesu,” threatened that the general elections in 2023 would be violent unless President Muhammadu Buhari and the governors of the Niger Delta states met with them for negotiations, which the armed militant group described as necessary for the well-being of the nation’s oil-rich region.
The armed gang is shown in video shared by @GoldmyneTV, which depicts over 20 militants near a riverside with operable boats and a variety of offensive weapons.
The group’s leader, who remained anonymous, addressed the president in the following manner: “This video that I’m doing Mr. President, listen to me and listen very well. Moreover, you Niger Delta governors. I am the Ekpesu Force.

“I’m doing this video for Bayelsa State and also the President. This coming up election, if the governor and the President don’t know what to do, I am the Force of Ekpesu, look at my war boats and these are my fighters. I’m getting myself ready all the 24 hours.
“I’m coming for you people for the elections. If you don’t know what to do. And President, if you know what to do, come to me. Also, governor, come to me or else there will be no election for the Basan clan.
“President, governors and senators, listen to me, this coming election, there will be bloody elections in the Basan clan, Southern Ijaw Local Government. You know what to do.”
