Femi Fani-Kayode, a former Aviation Minister, has rebuked those criticizing the All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential running mate, Kashim Shettima’s outfit at the annual conference of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA.
Those criticising Shettima’s clothing, according to Fani-Kayode, are acting like hoodlums and gangbangers.
Shettima’s attire during the conference in Lagos has drawn criticism.
Shettima was the APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu’s representative at the occasion, and Nigerians made fun of him for wearing shabby clothing.
His attire gave rise to the “Shettima Challenge,” a craze that spread online.
In response, Fani-Kayode claimed that Shettima’s detractors were successful in elevating their mockery of the APC presidential running partner.
Fani-Kayode claimed in a Facebook post that Shettima’s detractors had demonstrated their lack of sophistication and education.
He wrote: “When grown men in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s pose in odd attire to make fun of Senator Kashim Shettima, our incoming vice president, they only serve to reveal themselves as the childish, stupid, jobless clowns, godless, disrespectful Phillistines, and infidels that they are.
“Nothing reflects the obsessive and narcissistic disposition, sociopathic tendencies, intellectual degeneration and moral turpitude of some of those in our midst than this imbecilic idiocy and repugnant behaviour.
“They behave more like bling-wearing ghetto gangbangers and hoodlum slum Kings than supposedly enlightened, educated, exemplary and civilised adults.
“They seek to mock Shettima but they have only succeeded in exalting him, lifting him up and mocking themselves.”
