Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party’s presidential candidate for the upcoming elections, has stated that all politicians and Nigerians alike owe it to their nation to sign the National Peace Accord.
The former vice president stated that he is personally committed to this duty after signing the peace agreement today.
“I also think that as Democrats, our positions should be based on adherence to honest and reliable elections.
“We as a nation must be united in this belief,” the PDP flagbearer stated on his official Facebook Page.

Despite any and all provocation, he added advised the populace and PDP members to conduct the campaigns in a peaceful manner and to abide by all applicable laws against hate speech.
The PDP leader had earlier pledged to reorganise Nigeria and devolve authority to support the federating regions.
In a broadcast late on Wednesday, Atiku stated: “There is over-concentration in the Federal Government with numerous agency duplications resulting to the establishment of parallel bureaucracies.”
“The federating units shall benefit from the devolution of powers to increase their productive capacity for synergy and collaboration with each other.”
The latest proposal for a restructuring of Nigeria along the lines of fiscal federalism and the devolution of particular duties in the exclusive legislative list completely under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government comes from Atiku.

The number one priority for federating units, according to restructuring proponents, is currently policing, especially in light of Nigeria’s growing security concerns on a national level.
Additionally, the former vice president declared that his administration would reconstruct the nation if elected in February of 2019.
“Nigerian people are excellent supporters and team players in a leadership environment that is open, friendly, and merit-based. We have the will and determination not only to promote the pursuit of happiness but also the actual attainment of happiness and the good life in an egalitarian society.
In order to fully implement full-scale economic production, Atiku said, “These trademarks of our civilization necessitate that we reconstruct Nigeria in every element of endeavour, open up the democratic space, and mobilise our collective energies.”
