The meeting between Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, and the APC Senate caucus has been revealed.
Buni met with APC Senators led by Senate President Ahmad Lawan at his Abuja residence on Thursday night, according to reports.
The Yobe governor and federal parliamentarians discussed the topic of a consensus agreement on the National Working Committee (NWC) positions, according to a statement released by his spokesman, Mamman Mohammed.
Governor Buni and the Senate APC caucus discussed measures to ensure that the convention is successful and devoid of crises, according to the report.
The APC Senators, on the other hand, agreed to support the convention’s success and pledged their allegiance to the party’s leadership, according to the statement.
The federal parliamentarians also backed all choices made by the party leadership to promote unity and triumph for the party, according to the statement.
Buni thanked the caucus for their support and assured them that enough preparations had been taken to ensure a smooth convention.
Governor Buni expressed gratitude to the Senators for accepting the invitation ahead of the party’s convention on Saturday.
