Peter Obi, the nominee for the Labour Party, informed Atiku Abubakar, his rival in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, that while his political career has always been a miracle, he is hoping for a larger one in the 2023 election.
This was said by Obi in response to Atiku’s assertion that the Labour Party needed a miracle to win the 2023 election.
According to InsightnaijaTV, Atiku claimed during a speech on Arise TV that the Labour Party lacks organization and is unable to win any elections.
During an appearance on a Channels TV program on Monday, Obi responded to Atiku’s assertion by saying that his political career has always been marked by a miracle from God.
The former governor of Anambra State remarked, “My political career has been a miracle. In my life, I’ve experienced a lot of things that no one could have predicted. It would have taken a miracle for me to win the election that year, but I did when I ran for governor of Anambra in 2003 as part of a party that had only been around for a year.
“Six months later, I was impeached. I challenged the impeachment in court, people said it will impossible for me to come back to office, that no governor has ever come back to office after impeachment, they said it will take a miracle for me to win the case in court, I won the case.
“So my political journey has been like a miracle and I’m waiting for the bigger miracle to happen in 2023. That’s my response to Atiku’s statement”.
