The Muslim Council of Lagos State has warmed that any mosque that violate the State Government Covid-19 protocols would be closed.
The Chairman of the Muslim Community of Lagos Coronavirus monitoring committee, Dr Naheemdeen Ekemode gave the warning while address worshippers at Ikeja Central Mosque during Jumaat Service on Friday August 28, 2020. He said that it is compulsory for mosque to ensure compliance to safe lives of people.
Dr Ekemode stated that coronavirus is real and it had killed thousands of people so it spreading must be curtailed. He expressed gratitude to the management of the mosque for ensuring that protocols was followed by the all worshippers.
Also at Rahamat Islamiyya Mosque Ikeja, the Chief Imam Sheik Isiak Tejidinni Said that though the protocol’s are difficult but the mosque ensure it’s compliance.
He commended the State Government for it’s effort to curb the pandemic. Shiek Tejidinni also promised that he would continue to propagate Government message among worshippers.
The committee which started it’s assignment from Lagos Central Mosque last week would visit major mosques in the five division of Lagos State.
The committee chairman, Mr Naheemdeen Ekemode said that he was impressed by what he saw so far from the visit since last week and hope that other mosques would follow the right path.
