In response to the President of ASUU, Emmanuel Osodeke, who claimed that paying academics on a pro rata basis was a ruse to turn them into casual workers, the Minister of Education stated that the government had no such strategy.
“Nobody can make University lecturers casual workers.,” according to Adamu.
When informed that the academics planned to stage a one-day protest to denounce the government’s move, Adamu, the minister, claimed he was unaware.
