Due to claims that he sexually assaulted a lady in a Barcelona bar last month, Brazilian football player Dani Alves has been detained in the city.
According to Spanish out AS, Alves, 39, was questioned at a police station in the Catalan capital’s Les Corts neighbourhood.
The defender will now appear in court to defend himself against accusations that on December 31, he inappropriately touched a female customer at Barcelona nightclub “Sutton.” Alves has categorically refuted the charges levelled against him.
Alves is regarded as the most decorated player in football history, having won 42 titles throughout his career while playing for teams like Barcelona, Juventus, and Paris Saint-Germain. Additionally, he has made 126 appearances for the Brazilian national team, the most recent of which was in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup.

Alves is a current member of the Pumas squad in Mexico. The football player apparently left Mexico for Spain after the passing of his wife’s mother, who was born in Tenerife.
