It was a cascade of tears, whimpering sobs and free flow of emotions on Friday, July 9, 2021 as the remains of the founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua, were lowered six feet beneath the ground.
The 57-year-old Joshua was buried on the premises of his church in Lagos State. He was buried in the presence of his widow, Evelyn; his children, family members, personalities, religious and political leaders from different nations of the world.
Joshua was buried after a week-long funeral service which climaxed on Friday afternoon.
Joshua, who was born on June 12, 1963, had planned to celebrate his 58th birthday on June 12, 2021 before he died on June 5, 2021.
The event, which was tagged ‘celebrating the life and legacy of Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua’ had in attendance dignitaries like Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu; his deputy, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; and the Speaker of the Ondo House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Bamidele Oleyelogun.
Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu was represented by Prince Anofi Elegushi Hon. Commissioner, Home Affairs, Lagos. Also representing the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja 1 was his queen, Olori Silekunola Naomi Ogunwusi. The Zaki of Arigidi Akoko, His Royal Majesty Oba Yisa Olanipekun was also represented.
Governor Akeredolu, who took the first Bible reading during the laying to rest service admonished that death was not the end but a means of transformation.
