A stakeholders meeting between the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission, LASIEC and the grassroots is underway in Alimosho.
It is the second in the series of engagements with the grassroots to ensure full participation at the Local Government elections billed for 24th of this month.
The Chairman of LASIEC, Justice Ayotunde Philips said the agency was putting in place all necessary arrangements for a successful polls.
She gave an assurance that security would be tight so that everyone can exercise his or her franchise on the election day. However, she appealed to both politicians and the voting public to vote quietly and return home as anyone who cause trouble would regret it.
Justice Ayotunde Philips said that the election would hold in compliance with Covid-19 safety protocols between eight o clock in the morning and three o clock in the afternoon.
The theme of the engagements is “Taking Ownership of the Electoral Process- Citizen Participation.
