The Lagos State Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Dr. Idris Salako has expressed displeasure at the illegal development of commercial buildings in Amuwo Odofin Local Government area of the State.
To this end, 22 buildings, including banks, hotels and shoping malls among others have been served Contravention Notices in various locations within the Local Government Area.
Dr. Salako, who urged owners of property on which notices had been served to come forward with the Planning Permit authorising their building construction stated that it was gross violation of the law for individuals or organisations to errect buildings without approval.
The Commissioner, who noted that Government would not hesitate to bring any erring developer and property owner to book reiterated that no one was allowed to errect a building without Planning Permit, issued by the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority, LASPPPA, and Stage Certification from the Lagos State Building Control Agency, LASBCA.
