The Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Enforcement Unit has arrested over twenty suspected notorious miscreants/cultists during a raid on criminal hideouts in Lagos
The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force, Mr. Olayinka Egbeyemi, who led the enforcement team told newsmen in a statement by the agency spokesperson, Mr.Taofik Adebayo that the criminal hideout raided inclusdes Ogudu and Ajah as directed by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu.
According to him, “During the enforcement exercise, miscreants/cultists launched a serious attack on the officers with broken bottles, stones, axe and other dangerous weapons from different spots including uncompleted buildings”.
While noting that upon the attack, officers of the Agency stood their ground and flushed them out from their hideouts while some of them escaped through the roof.
Mr. Egbeyemi said the raid following a rip-off by members of the public who were victims of miscreants and cult gangs especially in the early hours of the day and late at night.
He, however, said that the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu further directed that the arrested miscreants/Cultists be prosecuted.
