In other to ensure full compliance to curb the spread of Corona virus in Lagos State, the Lagos State Government has sealed off ten schools in the State for scoffing directives of the State Government on closure of schools.
The Director-General Office of Education Quality Assurance, Lagos State Mrs Abiola Seriki-Ayeni who led some members of the monitoring team to observe the level of compliance by school owner in the State.
Mrs. Seriki-Ayeni explained that it was discovered that many schools comply with the rules while some were seen holding lesson for their students as against the directive of the Government and were sealed.
She added that the monitoring exercise shall continue until Government lift the ban on school opening.
“No doubt Covid-19 has had a negative effect on our schools but we want students to come out stronger and better. We also want to make sure schools adhere to closure directives, since the number of Covid-19 case has increased dramatically over time on the field.
However, she urge parents and school managers to comply with the directives of the State Government by maintaining social distance, use of face mask and proper hand washing.
“This is the time to think and plan strategically to form good partnership with Government in order to get resources for your school “.
