The Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission, Mr. Lanre Mojola on Monday sealed off some bars, lounges, night clubs for scoffing Lagos State Government order on closure of social clubs, to curb the spread of COVID-19.
Mojola while leading the compliance and enforcement team of the commission on lock up drive said the Lagos State Government had zero tolerance for breach of laws and order in the State. Adding that the State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu is working assiduously to ensure the guideline giving for the prevention of COVID-19 is adhere to.
He expanciate that the commission has embarked on the issuance of safety compliance certificates to social clubs that have registered with adequate verification.
“Let me reiterate that mass gathering of people at social clubs. Spas during this pandemic negates safety guidelines”.
The Director General however urge social centres yet to register to comply with the initiative and remain closed after been certified until the Governor gives order to fully open for business.
Some of the places visited by the commission includes: Surulere, Abule Egba, Lagos Island and its environs.
