The Lagos State Police Command has responded to an allegation that a dispatch rider, who has yet to be named, was found with a baby in his courier box.
CSP Adekunle Ajisebutu, the state police spokesperson, said in a statement that the command will investigate reports of the event in the Sangotedo area of Lekki.
According to Ajisebutu, the incident was not reported to any police station, preventing officers from taking proper action.
He went on to say that the state Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, has asked that efforts be stepped up to locate the alleged dispatch rider and the child’s parents or guardians so that the police can investigate the matter.
