Following the directive by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu that worship centers in the State be reopened from tomorrow, Friday August 7, 2020 the Lagos State House of Assembly Muslim Community has announced that it will open for Jumat service.
According to a statement by the League of Imams of the Assembly, Jumat service would commence at 1 pm and end at 2.00 p.m. adding that the Muslim Community would adhere strictly to the Government directive to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The statement also revealed that the mosque would not allow anybody above 65 years to attend the Jumat service and that the mosque would close its door once the 50 percent worshipper mark is attained.
It also warned worshippers against hugging and handshaking within and outside the mosque premises
The League of Imams however commended the efforts of Governor Sanwo-Olu, who they said had shown commitment and exemplary leadership and took positive steps to contain the spread of the virus.
