As part of efforts to assist Cooperative societies in dealing with the challenges posed by the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Lagos State Cooperatives College has organised a 5-day training on Digital technology.
In his remarks during the opening of the programme in Agege, the Provost of the College, Mr Akorede Ojomu stated that the capacity building training was geared towards ensuring that cooperators do not lag behind in the new normal occasioned by the pandemic particularly as it relate to the increasing use of digital technology in the delivery of business operations and services.
Mr. Ojomu who said cashless policy had checked fraudulent practices in cooperative Societies said participants would be walked through value adding topics such as Cyber Security, Accounting, Entrepreneurship , Understanding Cooperative Business Model, Digital Literacy, Business Planning & Control in Cooperative Management, Economic Self-Reliance and Digital Transformation Strategy to boost their capacity.
The Registrar of the College, Mrs Riskat Oshomo announced that about one hundred participants from across the State are taking part in the training.
The theme of the training is “Digital Transformation Strategies for Cooperative Societies during COVID and Post- COVID 19 era”.
