The Lagos State House of Assembly has approved a budget amendment of N1.25 trillion for the year 2021.
InsightnaijaTV reports that, this is in response to Governor Babajide Sanwo-request Olu’s to the House.
Sanwo-Olu has asked the House in September 2021 to adopt an amendment to the N1.164 trillion Appropriation Law passed by MPs on December 29, 2020.
The Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, directed the Clerk of the House, Olalekan Onafeko, to deliver a clean copy of the report to the Governor for his consent after the approval was given by voice vote.
According to Obasa, the governor is proposing that the House authorize the rearrangement of recurrent expenditures from N460.58 billion to N496.26 billion and capital expenditures from N702.93 billion to N759.59 billion.
Hon. Gbolahan Yishawu, Chairman of the House Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, read the various sectoral allocations and announced the new appropriation law as N1,256,567,592,651 trillion during the deliberations leading to the passage of amended law.
