The Lagos State Chapter of All Progressive Congress, APC, said it has not chosen a candidate yet for the Lagos East Senatorial District and Kosofe Constituency 2 Lagos House of Assembly bye-election.
This came on the heel of speculations from some groups indicating that the party had reached consensus and choose a candidate for the October 31, 2020 bye election.
The two seats became vacant, after the death of the two representatives Senator Bayo Osinowo and Hon. Tunde Braimoh respectively.
According to a statement issued by the Lagos APC Publicity Secretary, Seye Oladejo, the party primary will hold on Thursday, 3rd September, 2020.
He said: “The party has not picked any candidate for the coming by-elections. It is not until Thursday when the primary election will be conducted that the candidates for the Lagos East Senatorial District and Kosofe 2 Constituency will be determined.”
“Lagosians should disregard any speculation or rumours that the party has already picked Mr. Tokunbo Abiru as the party’s consensus candidate for the senatorial election.”
