Kwara State Government has presented an interest-free loans to 170 young people with businesses in the State.
The state Governor, Malam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq said the initiative is geared towards empowering young people and driving inclusive growth.
Governor AbdulRazaq said between N250,000 and N3m was presented to the beneficiaries to start or strengthen their businesses after some rigorous, private sector-led screening processes that began with over 7000 applicants.
According to the Governor, the loans were awarded under Kwapreneurs, a State Government’s Entrepreneurial platform designed to support initiatives of people not more than 35 years of age with seed funds.
Kwapreneur is open to Kwarans with viable and scalable business ideas.
He however urged the beneficiaries to use the funds judiciously and repay the loans for others to benefit from the scheme.
