Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has imposed a 24-hour curfew across the state’s Jema’a and Kaura local government districts.

The State Government has faced some criticism in the aftermath of the bloodshed on Sunday.
The government has now imposed a curfew in order to restore peace and allow security authorities to conduct efficient operations in response to the incident.
Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner of the Kaduna State Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, explained in a statement: “Following advice from security agencies, the Kaduna State Government has declared a 24-hour curfew in Jema’a and Kaura local government areas with immediate effect. This is to assist the security agencies to stabilize the situation in the areas, save lives and property and enable the restoration of law and order.”
The security authorities have complete ability to implement the curfew, according to Aruwan’s statement.
