Wilson Iliya Yangye, a former Senior Special Assistant for Political Affairs in the Office of the Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, has resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He left the ruling party to join the Peoples Democratic Party, which is in opposition (PDP).
Yangye ran for the State House of Assembly seat representing Jamaa Constituency in 2019, but lost by a razor-thin margin to the incumbent member when he joined the ruling All Progressives Congress in 2018.
Yangye was named Senior Special Assistant Political, Office of the Deputy Governor, shortly after the 2019 general elections, but resigned this year due to personal reasons.
He has been a loyal APC member who made a significant contribution to the party’s win in the Jema’a Local Government Area during the recent local government elections, which ended the PDP’s 22-year reign in the area.
