Hon. Salisu Zakari (Chigarin Hadejia), the Jigawa State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, passed away at the age of 60.
After a brief illness, Zakari passed away on Saturday morning at the Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano.
Late Zakari served on the Jigawa State Executive Council up until his passing.
The deceased was the chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board before being appointed as a Commissioner and a member of the State Executive Council, and he had previously served as the All Progressives Congress’s Secretary of State (APC).
According to a family source, Zakari’s funeral prayer would be offered on Saturday by 11 a.m. at the Emir’s Palace in Hadejia, Jigawa State.
In the meantime, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, the governor of Jigawa State, characterized Hon. Salisu Zakari as a gentleman who served Jigawa with the utmost honesty and diligence in a condolence letter.
He consequently prayed to Allah (SAW) for Jannatul Firdausi, the deceased, as well as for his family to have the strength to endure the irreparable loss.
