Eyitayo Jegede governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, Mr. Eyitayo Jegede (SAN) has described the death of Madam Abigail Makinde, mother of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, as a great loss for both the people of Ondo and Oyo States.
Jegede in a press statement to condole with the Oyo State governor, said, “Much as it is painful losing a cherished mother, the import of Mama’s exit is felt also by both the people of Oyo State where you are governor, and by the people of Ondo State, with whom she was ancestrally linked.”
Jegede noted that the respectable conducts of Governor Makinde and his siblings were proofs that the late Madam Makinde was a woman of virtue, who brought up all her children well, to the benefit of the society.
“I can only beseech you to take heart and be grateful to God that Mama lived a life worthy of emulation by generations of women and men alike.
“The best way to immortalise her is for those she left behind to sustain her legacies of unblemished motherhood, immutable honesty, and enterprising spirit.”
Jegede, in commiserating with the people and government of Oyo State “on the painful loss of Mama Makinde”, also enjoined the people of the state to continue to support the administration of Governor Makinde in its determined efforts to provide them the dividends of democracy.
“We in the PDP family are proud of your untiring efforts to deliver on your electoral promises through various physical achievements in less than two years of becoming governor.
“We are thus prodding the good people of Oyo State to continue with the mass support they are currently giving your administration,” he commended.
