T he Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila has assured that the rift between Federal Government and National Assembly will be resolved soonest.
Gbajabiamila noted the announced recruitment of 774,000 youths for public works, which has led to shouting between the Minister of Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo and some senators investigating the process during a committee meeting on Monday.
It will be recalled that a joint NASS had invited the Minister to give analysis and method of selection of the 20 man committee from each States for the Special Public works programme under the National Directorate of Employmen(NDE).
The meeting which later led to rowdiness between the Senators and Minister for Labour and Employment(State) who was asked to apologize but refused was later walked out.
Also appearing before the Public Accounts Committee during its session with Dr. Yale, Gbajabiamila assured that the matter will be resolved amicably.
“it is unfortunate that National Assembly is not allowed to operate as it should. However, I want to assure you that the matter will be resolved within the next 24hours”.
