The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, won reelection for a second four-year term. In the Ogun State governorship election held on March 18, 2023, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, the state returning officer for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), pronounced him the winner.
Abiodun who is vying for a second and last term defeated his closest competitor, Ladi Adebutu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Abiodun received 276 298 votes, compared to 262 383 for Adebutu. Biyi Otegbeye of the Africa Democratic Party, who received a total of 94,754 votes, finished in second place behind the couple.
“That Abiodun Adedapo Oluseun of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned election,” Adebowale stated.
