Prior to the election of the governor of Anambra on November 6, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) proposed a plan to implement a security application.
InsightnaijaTV reports that Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, Chairman of INEC, announced the news after opening a retreat in Kefi, Nasarawa State on Friday, August 6. Guber investigates.

Yakubu went on to say that after a wave of arson, vandalism, and other attacks on committee facilities, it was necessary to develop the application.
INEC Chairman also stated that the application will be integrated with the Election Observation and Assistance Center (EMSC) to avoid or reduce potential risks or threats to the election.
