In Riyom Local Government of Plateau State, gunmen shot and killed a female worshipper on Saturday night.
Lyop Dalyop, the deceased, is alleged to have been murdered on Saturday immediately after getting home from church.
According to additional information, the event took place in the Bachi neighbourhood at 8 o’clock.
Dalyop Mwantiri, the national president of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, confirmed the attack.
“Just a few minutes ago, armed individuals presumed to be Fulani militias shot and killed one Mrs. Lyop Dalyop of Bangai villages in Bachi District, Riyom LGA,” the youth leader stated.
“From what I was told, the incident occurred at about 8:05 pm of today, 27th August 2022 shortly after she returned from sweeping COCIN Church Bangai
“She went out to ease herself after returning from sweeping the Church against tomorrow’s service. Then an armed Fulani just appeared from nowhere and shot her in the head.
“The attack took place after a Fulani boy was spotted spying the area earlier this evening.
“Some neighbours who heard the gunshot rushed to her house and found her in the pool of her own blood. She died a few minutes after”
