It was a carnival scene where the local government of IfakoIjaiye launched an awareness and mobilization campaign to encourage the massive enrollment of students in kindergartens and public primary schools in the local government area.
Trumpets sounded, drums beat, and team members sang and danced as leaflets were handed out.
The campaign started at the Local Government Secretariat with a speech by the Vice President, Ms. Oluwatoyin AwoniyiAkerele, representing the Executive President, Prince Usman Hamzat.
The vice president spoke about the importance of education and the importance of educating young people.
Thereafter, the team moved to Iju-Ishaga Motor Park where the Executive Secretary of Ifako-Ijaiye Local Education Area, Adeyemi Jogbon, and the HOD Education, Alhaja Modupe Ogungbo-Alimi, enlightened members of the NURTW on the need to register their wards in school.
The last leg of the campaign was a walk round Ishaga Market where the team had one-on-one interface with market men and women.
