Oyinkansola Aderibigbe, better known as Ayra Starr, a Nigerian singer and songwriter, celebrated her first anniversary in the music industry on Saturday.
The 19-year-old artiste, who is signed to Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records, shared a video of herself from a year ago on her Instagram page.
She announced her debut into the music industry in the video and stated that she would make such videos every year.
In another recent video, the singer announced her one-year anniversary in the industry, thanking her fans and those who helped her succeed.
Ayra Starr thanked her fans, whom she referred to as Starrs, and promised never to let them down.
In the caption, the Bloody Samaritan singer wrote, “A year! It’s only God. Thank you to everyone. Thank you to @donjazzy @rimouuune @tegamavin @vaedar, and my entire family.
“Thank you mummy @miucliff and my partner in crime, my biggest supporter, my best friend @sainttmilar and my amazing amazing Starrs.
“You all love me like you know me personally. Stay with me and I’ll never disappoint. I’ll work as hard as I have to; to get to where I want to be.
“Just keep believing in me and stay with me. Grow with me.”
The singer rose to fame early last year, receiving positive feedback for songs such as ‘Away,’ ‘Fashion Killer,’ and ‘Bloody Samaritan.’
‘Away’ was said to have peaked at No. 1 on the Nigeria iTunes chart and also topped the Apple Music charts in Nigeria, Ghana, Uganda, Sierra Leone, and Gambia.
