Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, the Lagos State Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), has stated that he cannot be suspended on social media.
This is because he stated his office had not received the alleged letter of suspension and that he would continue to carry out the tasks and duties of the Lagos NURTW Chairman.
When approached about the development on Thursday, MC Oluomo’s publicist, Jimoh Buhari, stated his position.
As previously reported by InsightnaijaTV, the national leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has suspended the Lagos chapter’s Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as Mc Oluomo, indefinitely.
MC Oluomo is accused of insubordination and instigating members of the union against the national leadership, according to a letter of suspension signed by NURTW General Secretary Kabiru Yau.
The letter, dated March 9, 2022, instructed MC Oluomo to pass over all union holdings in his care to the state secretary, as well as the leadership of the union to his deputy.
However, in a quick response to the suspension, Buhari stated that his boss is currently attending a meeting, which he will chair.
He went on to say that Oluomo is still the Lagos NURTW Chairman in their eyes.
“As far as we are concerned, we are not aware of the suspension because we have not received any letter from the national leadership.
“A leader of an organization cannot be suspended on social media.
“MC Oluomo is going into a meeting at the moment and he is going to chair the meeting. He remains Lagos NURTW chair,” he told Punch.
