A businesswoman named Maria Yakubu hauled her husband, Gana Yakubu, to a Nyanya-based customary court on Friday after he reportedly smeared charm on the woman’s bed.
This was stated by the petitioner in a divorce petition she submitted to the court against her husband.
“Since we finished building our new house and moved in, I and my husband started having misunderstanding, whenever I come back home, it’s always one problem or the other.
“On one faithful day, I came back home and entered my room, and saw charm on my bed, I confronted my husband and he denied, then I involved the police. My husband later confessed that he was the one that spread the charm.”
I don’t want to die in this marriage, the petitioner said further, pleading with the court to give her divorce.
Shitta Abdullahi, the presiding judge, however, postponed the case until August 8 to allow for the defense
