Denrele Edun, a well-known media figure in Nigeria, has described how his girlfriend dumped him on Valentine’s Day.
Denrele revealed this in an interview with Hawa Magaji, the host of “Who is in My House?” He added that after learning the relationship was over, he continued to express his affection for the girl and emphasised that he had always been friends with the ladies he had dated in the past.

He claims that despite appearing like a guy, many people still criticise him for it and make comparisons to other media figures.
Denrele stated that being authentic to him means living life on his own terms and has made a commitment to always be true to himself no matter what.
He stated: “I was jilted on Valentine’s Day. At about 3am in the morning, the person told me that she could not love me back the way I loved her. I replied that I could still love her, but I would let her go. I always remain friends with all the people I have been involved with (romantically) over the years.
“I have been haunted so much by people saying I don’t dress the way one is supposed to dress. Even when I comb my hair and wear proper suits, people compare me to other media personalities.”
“Authenticity, for me, is about living my life on my terms, and being as original as possible in my mode of expression, in line with my beliefs.”
